There turned out to be more work in creating this than I had planned on doing at the start but here it is. Unzip the file into your "Themes" directory making sure to set it to create stored sub-directories. You will notice that there are more icons, sounds, and cursors in the Descent Theme direcotory than are being used. The extras are either leftovers from doing all the trial and error until I found a set that I liked, or second options where I couldn't make up my mind which one to use. There are also splash screen replacements that are *not* installed by default. See the "Banner Screen Installation Instructions.TXT" file if you don't know how to install these. There are multiple background files available. I generally run my screen at 800x600 so the default background image is set at that resolution. 640x480 and 1024x768 files are also available. They were all in JPG format at one time but the conversion utility to make Jpeg files into background images really trashed the image quality so that's why I put the bitmaps back. That's why the size of the Descent Theme directory is so big. If you don't want to keep the extras around feel free to delete them. Some others reponsible for all the time this cost me are: Parallax and Interplay - for the game itself. DTX - for the ability to extract sounds and images from the game. Microsoft - for the cursor editors. Corel - You can't manipulate graphics properly without them. Jason Vannest - for some of the ideas used. (I blame him the most.) ==Ron Williams williams@oumail1.email.ohiou.edu http://win95.cns.ohiou.edu
